Entertaining Your Indoor Cat: 50 Fun and Inventive Amusements for Your Cat ReviewI have two adult indoor cats and since I'm away 11 hours a day for work, I was afraid that they're bored much of the time. I was looking for ways to entertain them when I am at home and can play with them, and the description of this book made me think it might be the answer. I eagerly awaited its arrival, but as soon as I got it and opened it, I realized it was not to be.
The first third of the book is devoted to kittens. Now let's face it, kittens are not that hard to entertain. They'll chase anything that moves and even a lot of things that don't. A ribbon, a piece of crumpled cellophane, a paper bag - any of these will keep a kitten fascinated.
Another section has things like taking your cat out on a leash and building enclosures in the yard. I'm not quite sure how this relates to entertaining and amusing an INDOOR cat.
A lot of the other suggestions are for purchasing things like cat trees or cat-targetted videos. Almost anyone who has indoor cats and web access or proximity to a decent-sized pet store will have already run across these. Not very inventive.
I've actually only seen a couple of things in the whole book that seem like I might try them.
