However, the differences in volume made it difficult to listen to. The normal speaking voice of the reader was soft, so we turned up the volume, then all of a sudden, there was a startling, ear-splitting booming voice that made it necessary to turn it down. After quite a while of that, we gave up before the end. The reader was excellent and that was my only complaint--my ears! It's like the TV commercials that come in so loud.
